Description
Larner vineyard (Ballard Canyon) and Watch Hill vineyard (Alisos Canyon)
The refined middle weight flavors are also cool and energetic with very fine depth and length on the balanced finish that is unusually dry for the vintage
Roederer's 2011 Blanc de Blancs is showing brilliantly and no doubt reflects Lecaillon's decision to be extremely selective
Not long-term
Enticing apricot and white peach notes intermingle with white chocolate and lemongrass
Chapoutier, Hermitage Sizeranne Vintage:2017 Larner vineyard (Ballard Canyon) andMid deep garnet. Grilled meat, oxidative tones to blackberry fruit, with crushed rock minerality and truffle development. Touch of cooked tomato feels like a cool vintage nose. Fine, but firm tannins are still fully in command of the palate. Brisk acidity and drying raspberry fruit. Meaty and flinty, with a very savoury, long finish. Still not ready. (TJ)
