Rustic charm, warm natural tones in indigo blue and red and special durability characterise the Hamedan. Hand spun Iranian highland wool gives it a soft sheen. The "Turkish knot" provides the robust surface. Hamedans are considered the simplest of Persian carpets. They are traditionally hand knotted in the villages around the Iranian city of Hamedan.
